What can a "custom DataBased Program" do for you?

Well, the fastest way to explain is through some examples.

Here is a small list of applications that would qualify as DataBased Software.

You can scroll through this document or click on the links to jump to a specific example. (Most examples are really short so I'd suggest you scroll.)

Inmate "intake" processing Legal firm that provides legal services to inmates at five different prisons. Their "Legal Writers", which are also inmates, take care of intake processing and also do all the data entry work for the attorneys.

They record information each time that an inmate visits the legal office in the prison. The data collected includes the legal writer, date of service, service provided, area of law, and stage of the case. This information is regularly sent to firm's main office and incorporated into a central table. The program of course tests records for duplication before saving them to the central table.

Most data is selected from pick lists. Each pick list is configurable in that the user can mark items on each list as active/inactive. Only active items appear in the pick lists when adding records, etc. This is done because some items become out dated. Also, some legal writers specialize in just a few things and don't need or want to see all pick list items.
